I became interested in fine art photography after moving to Tucson, Arizona in 2005. The deserts of the Southwest provide an inspiring backdrop for any artistic endeavor but I feel it is particularly true for photography. I like to characterize the type of work I do as "portrait" photography. Sometimes the subjects are people, as in traditional portrait work, but more often they are things or plants or buildings or rocks or whatever I find interesting. I'm interested in capturing the form, design, pattern or character of the individual, not a collection of individuals as in traditional landscape images, thus my use of the term "portrait". I am drawn to black and white images because I personally find greater emotion and feeling conveyed in black and white over color. I hope you enjoy viewing my gallery half as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
